Indian Racing Prodigy Atiqa Mir headed a grid controlled by men to become the first female winner in the Minimax category in the RMC Sae Karting Championship.
In the nascent career of the first, the ten -year race took over the race in four rounds before he broke away from the pack and finally finished the commanding victory four seconds on Al Ain Raceway.
The diverse grid of 15 drivers represented eight different nationalities.
With his starry performance, the driver supported by F1 has made him an unforgettable RMC debut for his GP ACCEL team.
Atiqa fought against adversity from the third on the grid before it came to the top in a close race. She took a decisive step from the inside for leadership and never looked back and set blisters in relatively wind conditions.
The win came after a difficult last weekend when Atiqa injured her hand, but still managed the TOP-10 in the Sae Iame series.
“That felt good. For the first four rounds it was hard. I was pushed around, but I fought hard and kept on my back straight and went to overtake the lead,” said racer from Jammu and Kashmir.
“Then I really pushed every lap because I knew I was without an elevation and there was a chance that the chasing pack would catch me. But I had a good pace and managed to win.
In the first race at the weekend on Saturday, Atiqa accused himself over the field after she dropped to 10. For the deserved third place on stage. In this process atiqa set the fastest record in this race and the only driver who broke the barrier of 59 seconds in two days of racing.
The director of the GP ACCEL team, Rohit, was, of course, enthusiastic about the debut result.
“The exceptional weekend and a milestone for GP ACCEnd in our debut RMC Outing. Atiqa presented the commanding performance – on Saturday it held our first stage and converted it into a racing victory on Sunday.”
“Her pace, consistency and pressure races were excellent. This is an important moment for the team and we are incredibly proud of the efforts of all involved,” he said.
