After the meeting last week, when the Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Care Y. Satya Kumar Yadav expressed concern about the insufficient performance of several district medical service coordinators (DCHSS), the secondary health director A. Siri appointed the new DCHSS in their 10 districts.
The new DCHSS were named in Alluri Sitaramaraju, Dr. BR AMBEDKAR KONASEEMA, West Godavari, NTR, Bapatla, Palnada, Tirupati, Nandyal, Sri Satya Sai and Annamayya.
At his 13th May meeting, the Minister identified Lacunae in the performance of secondary hospitals in these districts and emphasized the need for improvement.
According to an official remark issued by the Ministry of May 16, the decision was taken when these districts did not show the required improvement in secondary hospitals despite regular entry and proposals.
The DCHSS, which oversees the functioning of community health centers (CHC), hospitals (AH) and district hospitals (DH), will ensure effective provision of health services to people. It must also ensure that all objectives are met, ie in terms of institutional deliveries, reducing Kosper supplies, full use of diagnostic equipment, operation, increasing registration of health interventions within Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva etc.
There are 243 secondary hospitals in Andhra Pradesh.
