Hyderabad’s Suravaram Pratap Reddy Telugu University has announced to felicitate Pete Srinivasula Reddy, retired professor of Telugu at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati, for his work ‘Tirupati Kathalu’. A renowned writer on folklore, he is known by his pen name “Petasri”.
The prize is awarded to authors of books published in 2023 in various categories and genres. Mr. Reddy’s ‘Tirupati Kathalu’ was selected in the prose category.
The ‘Sahithi Puraskar’ and a cash prize of ₹20,116 will be presented to Mr. Reddy at the NT Rama Rao Kalamandiram at the Nampally University campus on October 29. Interestingly, he is one of the two litterateurs from Andhra Pradesh to be selected for the award.
So far, Mr. Reddy has received 20 national and international awards for his work and has presented papers at international conferences held in 10 countries. To date, he is the author of 25 books and has published more than 300 articles.
