IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Wednesday (December 10, 2025) said the Telangana government will set up incubation centers in all government universities to promote innovation, promote research-led entrepreneurship and strengthen the startup ecosystem across Telangana.
Inaugurating Google for Startups Hub at T-Hub, Hyderabad by Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Minister said that the proposed incubation centers will be developed on par with Telangana AI Innovation Hub and Life Sciences ONE Hub in line with the government’s vision to position Telangana as a global innovation hub.
“We do not see startups only as small businesses… we understand them as economic engines capable of solving social challenges and creating new job opportunities,” the minister’s office said in its speech.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said startups in Telangana have raised $571 million in 2024, a 160% increase over the previous year. The HealthTech sector alone saw a remarkable 2,139% increase in funding over this period. Hyderabad ranks sixth in India for women-led startups, with 531 women-led businesses receiving $417 million in investments. “These are not just statistics. They show the impact of progressive government policies and continued support for innovation,” he said.
The state government believes that technology is not just a tool but an instrument of equity, inclusive growth and is keen to ensure that its benefits reach every citizen. The government will soon operationalize Rs. 1000-million fund of funds for start-ups, he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to support young innovators and new ideas.
