Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress government celebrating its second anniversary, alleging that Telangana has been handed over to land mafias, turning it into a ‘CM and brothers’ model compared to the ‘CM and son’ model of the previous BRS government.
“People consider the government as one of the commissions and contractors. The common citizens have not gained anything from this regime. How can it be ‘Telangana Rising’ under such circumstances? It is ‘Telangana Sinking’,” he remarked at a protest demonstration against the ‘failures and non-fulfillment of the government’s promises’ organized at Indira Park on Sunday.
Accompanied by senior leaders including Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member K Laxman, MP DK Arun and Legislature Party leader A Maheshwar Reddy, Mr Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of a “complete failure”. Despite holding key departments like education, law and home, education and law and order are at zero, as is public safety, he charged.
He further claimed that while the Modi government is eradicating Naxalism nationwide and moving towards a Naxal-free India, the Congress government is “harboring and nurturing urban Naxals”. He promised that such forces will be completely eliminated when the BJP comes to power.
Strongly opposing the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transfer Policy (HILPT), which he claimed was opening the “door to corruption”, Mr Rao said, “If the BRS government has committed a grave mistake by selling large tracts of industrial land to private individuals, the present government will hand it over to real estate lobbies”.
He said people are asking about the six guarantees and 420 promises made during the elections and why not a single guarantee has been implemented. The former MLC also accused the Congress party of indulging in communal politics and hurting the sentiments of millions of Hindus while protecting “anti-national forces”.
The former MLC highlighted the centre’s contributions including expansion of national highways, AIIMS Bibinagar, Vande Bharat trains, Tribal University, revival of Ramagundam fertilizer factory, development of aviation sector and free rice for the poor.
Mr. Rao said that people gave BRS to VRS for not doing any work but kept blaming the Center and the Congress government is following the same path. Therefore, people will reject even the Congress party in the coming days. In an indirect reference to the absence of many MPs, the party chief stated, “This is Team BJP working with collective leadership, not Ramchander’s team”.
Earlier, Mr. Kishan Reddy had called upon the CM to hold a public debate on the implementation of promises at Indira Park, Press Club or Praja Bhavan. “With what face is the CM celebrating two years of government?” he asked.
