
Crime in Telangana decreased by 4.9 percent in the second half of 2024 compared to the first half, with most of the main crimes-with an exception of burglary-a decline, CID director Shikha Goel revealed during the semi-annual meeting on Monday in the DGP office.
She emphasized the improvement of the police results and noted that the rate of crime detection in 2024 was 76 percent, which is significantly higher than 57 percent recorded in 2023. The meeting of the revision was chaired by the CEO of the Police (DGP) Jitender, who addressed higher police officials, police commissioners, superintendents and other officers from all over the state.
DGP Jitender called on the approach to citizens to the police and emphasized the need to build public confidence through the visible police and the active involvement of the community. He called on officers to regularly interact with the public, especially the female officers who were asked to take campaigns of self-realization and strengthen the position.
DGP also demanded stricter and more sensitive investigation, especially in cases where the distinction between civil and criminal financial disputes is blurred. Officers were instructed to use the network and criminal offense systems (CCTN) to support cases more efficiently.
The meeting recorded a number of presentations about various aspects of the police. Police Commissioner Rachakond Sudheer Babu introduced the initiative of the visible police; Amber Kishhore Jha, Police Commissioner, Ramagundam, shared strategies to improve the level of belief; And Commissioner Khammam Sunil Datt dealt with the quality of the investigation.
Forensic expert Krupakar Singh from Gandhi Hospital offered insight into medical-legal procedures, while ASP SHUBHAM focused on improving the disposal of cases. Swetha Reddy, DCP CCS, discussed the liquidation of long -term cases and Vijay Kumar, DCP West Zone, reported on the solution of cyber crimes. The meeting was attended by higher officials including DG Intelligence B.
