Telangana announced in 2023 the second highest number of cases of cyber crime in India, with 18,236 incidents, monitoring only Karnataka, which recorded 21,889 cases. This represents an increase of 19.23% of 15,297 cases in 2022 and a stunning 77% increase from 10,303 cases in 2021.
The state represented 21.1% of 86,420 cyber cases reported throughout India and emphasized its position as an epicenter of digital offenses in the country. At the rate of crime 47.8 per population of Lakh Telangana, in 2023, he reported a relatively low indictment rate of 20.9. Among the states only Assam (18.3), Karnataka (18,1), Nagaland (16,7), Meghalaya (7.5) and Arunacal Pradesh (2,35), while Mizoram (16,7), perfect 100% ChargeSheet.

This included 4,223 OTP fraud, 1,868 online banking fraud, 855 credit and debit cards, 1,097 involving online banking and 580 atmosphere fraud. The cheating followed 6,384 cases. Other offenses included 13 cases of data theft, 263 incidents of cyberstalking and bullying women and children, 213 cases of cyber blackmail or threats, 98 cases of false reports on social media and 47 false profiles.
Hyderabad itself showed 4,855 cases of cyber crime in 2023, an increase of 9.45% of 4,436 cases in 2022. The city turned out to be one of the worst meters after Bengalur, which culminated in 17,631 graphs. Hyderabad’s crime rate was 62.7 on the Lakh population, while charging remained low to just 17.3%, among the lowest of the main Indian metropolitan cities.
Within Hyderabad, frauds were most cases, with 4,076 incidents reported. This included 2,858 OTP fraud, 211 credit/debit card fraud, 156 at ATM -related fraud and 709 fraud with online banking. Cybestalking and bullying were 163 cases, while blackmail and threats consisted of 152 cases. The city also recorded 110 cases of publication or transmission of obscene material, 96 cases of cheating personalities and 97 cases of identity theft.
Mumbai followed 4,131 cases (the indictment rate of 21.6%) and Lucknow reported 1,453 cases (the indictment rate 19.0%).
