Equipment gained from the national strength to disasters (NDRF), including high-tech cutters, jacks, loaders and equipment used to search and rescue the structure, rescue rope and medical emergencies, has also been exhibited.
Police CEO Jitender, who dealt with the Assembly, said the strength was conceived after repeated flood incidents last year. “To reduce our dependence on the NDRF, the government approved the creation of 10 SDR units with approximately 1,000 TGSP employees. These units were trained and equipped to operate separately,” he said.
TGSP Yousufguda Commandant Murali Krishna added that the strength will be deployed not only during the flood, but for any natural disaster, including the earthquakes and buildings of buildings.
All SDRF staff underwent specialized training in swimming, rafting and rescue techniques in the Cuttack, Arakkonam, Vadodar, Pune and Vijayawada. Twelve battalions across the state now in the SDF team, including units in Yousufgud, Adilabad, Warangal, Kothagud, Kondapur and Nalgond. Every team that consists of 100 members is expected to respond within an hour to disconnects or precipitation. Hyderabad is currently serving teams from 1 and 8. Battalions.
SDF was officially launched on December 6, 2024 during Vijayotsav celebrations, after the Directive of the Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy to create a reserved strength of the disaster with a quick answer. Higher officials including other DGPS Mahesh M Bhagwat, Sanjay Kumar Jain and IGP M. Ramesh were present at the event.
