
The state government on Friday approved ₹16.62 crore for setting up additional infrastructural facilities for the Telangana Public School (TPS) scheme in Gajwel Assembly constituency of Siddipet district.
It is here that the government proposes to start TPS in the state starting from the academic year 2026-27.
TPS in Gajwel will start teaching from pre-primary to class VIII, while higher classes, from IX to XII, will start in the academic year 2027-28.
As part of the program and as recommended in the Telangana Education Policy, the state government proposes to develop TPS from the existing government schools with fully equipped campuses and provide education from pre-primary to class XII, accommodating about 1,500 students. A budget of ₹500 crore has been earmarked for the TPS programme.
