Telangana was recognized as the highest level of corpses in the country. At the ceremonial ceremony, which took place in Nový Delhi on Saturday, August 2, the Minister of Trade Unions for Health and Care for JP Nadda awarded the prize to the representatives of Jeevandan Telangana during the celebrations of the 15th Indian authorities.
The event was organized by the National Organization for Transplantation of Authorities and Tissues (notto), which operated under the General Directorate of Health Services, the Ministry of Health and Family Care. States throughout India have been recognized in various categories for their contributions to the donation and transplantation of organs.
In 2024, Telangana recorded the level of organization of the authorities of 4.88 donors per million inhabitants (PMP), which, according to a higher official, exceeded the national average of 0.8 pm. For comparison, the United States reports the degree of donations of 30 PMP, while Spain runs around the world with 48 PMPs.
In 2024, Jeevandan facilitated organ donation from 188 brain dead individuals. A total of 725 organs and tissues have been harvested from these donors and successfully transplanted for and outside the state. The annual sum includes 297 kidneys, 175 liver, 26 hearts, 152 cornea and 75 lungs.
Jeevandan, which was launched in 2013 by the TELANGANA Government, is administered by the Advisory Committee for Cadaver Transplant (CTAC), Chairman of the Special Secretary of Health, Medical and Family Care and the relevant authority for Cadaver (AACT) transplant (AACT). Director of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences serves as a co -chairman.
Since its establishment, the program has been facilitated by the donation of organs and tissues from 1,673 deceased donors, resulting in a transplant of 6 309 organs and tissues.
