Telangana has proposed a ₹2,950 crore tourism project with a wellness centre, luxury resorts, forest-view villas, luxury tented accommodation and a 130-room five-star hotel at Ananthagiri in Vikarabad district.
Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) CEO Valluru Kranthi made the suggestion at a two-day meeting of state tourism ministers on October 14-15 in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
The Ministry of Tourism has convened a meeting of Tourism Ministers and senior officials from all states and Union Territories to discuss strategies to promote tourism across the country.
The Telangana initiative is expected to create employment opportunities for around 2,500 local youth. The development will be driven by private sector participation under the destination maturity model based on Production Incentives (PLI), which aims to improve destination management and promote sustainable growth in the region, Ms Kranthi said during the meeting.
