Telangana is preparing a set of proposals related to tourism infrastructure, destination management and improving the visitor experience to be presented at the National Summit on Developing World-Class Tourism Destinations scheduled for July, following consultations with government agencies, industry stakeholders and tourism experts in Hyderabad on Wednesday, June 24.

Special Principal Secretary Tourism A. Vani Prasad chaired a State Level Consultative Workshop on “Development of Global Standard Tourism Destinations”.

The participants discussed strategies to identify and prioritize high potential destinations in Telangana and develop them into globally competitive tourism hubs capable of attracting both domestic and international visitors. Discussions focused on improving connectivity, tourism infrastructure, cleanliness, safety, accessibility, destination branding and sustainable management practices.

The workshop also explored the framework proposed by the Center for Destination Development, which includes the establishment of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) to undertake the professional planning, management, marketing and long-term management of tourism destinations. Stakeholders discussed the role of private sector participation in strengthening tourism infrastructure and improving visitor experiences.

The suggestions received during the workshop will be consolidated by the Telangana government and incorporated into the proposals to be presented at the National Summit on Development of Global Standard Tourism Destinations in July.
