Telangana Government has introduced new guidelines for Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF)so it is mandatory that all applications should be submitted online and accompanied by a recommendation from the local MLA or Lok Sabha MP.
The move comes after complaints that lawmakers from constituencies other than their own are issuing letters of recommendation, causing complications in processing relief. A circular issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said the new online system developed by the Center for Good Governance (CGG) aims to improve transparency and prevent misuse. Applications referred by representatives outside their jurisdiction will no longer be accepted.
