
The Telangana government on Wednesday launched welfare schemes for minority communities, including subsidized e-scooters for youth and financial assistance for women and vulnerable occupational groups.
The schemes were channeled through the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation.
Among the programs announced is the distribution of e-scooters to minority youth at a unit cost of up to ₹ 1.5 lakh, with 80% subsidy from TGMFC and 20% contribution from the beneficiary under the Empowerment of Youth programme.
For the Turka Kash Muslim community, the government has also announced the distribution of tool kits and generators with a unit cost of up to ₹ 60,000 as a one-time grant.
Online registrations for the programs will be open from February 19 to February 28 through the official portal.
As Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin launched these programmes, he was accompanied by leaders including Telangana Government Adviser on Minority Welfare Mohammad Ali Shabbir and Telangana Minority Residential Educational Institutions Society President Faheem Qureshi.
Financial assistance checks of up to ₹50,000 per beneficiary were given to minority women under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana, while sewing machines were distributed under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Shakti Scheme.
