Telangana launches Indiramma Housing scheme in Hyderabad; releases eligibility, application procedure, beneficiary contribution details

The Telangana government on Monday (July 20, 2026) launched the Indiramma Houses Scheme in Hyderabad, Core Urban Region (CURE). Houses would be built in high-rise buildings.
Applications from July 21 to August 10
Applications for houses will be accepted from July 21 to August 10 through MeeSeva centers, its portal or its WhatsApp services at 8096958096, according to an official communication. Applications should be submitted along with an application fee of ₹100 and an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000.
Government subsidy ₹ 5,000, Beneficiary contribution tentatively ₹ 6,000
The carpet area of the proposed affordable houses (flat) is 400 sqft and the built up area would be 528 sft. While the government subsidy will be ₹ 5,000, the advance grant of the beneficiary is ₹ 6,00,000 (excluding subsidy) as per the Telangana Housing Board brochure, which contains details of the eligibility criteria, application process, government grant and advance grant of the beneficiary, placement of housing places in 16, selection process and other details of the constituencies. It was released by Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy along with Hyderabad Minister-in-Charge Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister-in-Charge D. Sridhar Babu of Rangareddy, MLAs from Hyderabad constituencies and others.
As per the official notification, applicants must be a resident of Hyderabad (CURE) for the last 10 years, applicant or family should not own a house, flat or plot in Outer Ring Road (ORR) or CURE area. People with an annual household income of up to ₹6,000 can apply for the scheme. The applicant should not have received a similar housing benefit before. Misrepresentation, suppression of facts or duplicate application may result in rejection as stated in the document.
Procedure
After review, including document review and payment, a 360-degree verification will be conducted to check income, family details and duplicate applications. Then, if demand exceeds available units, a lottery will be held to select recipients. After pre-allotment, field verification and stage payments, registration will be accepted and the house will be handed over.

₹ 6 thousand in four installments
Ministers said the government’s target is to build one million affordable homes in one year and there will be no land charges. The housing minister said the estimated cost of constructing a 528 sft flat is ₹11 crore. Of this, ₹5 lakh is provided by the government as subsidy and the beneficiary has to contribute ₹6 lakh – which can be paid in four installments of ₹1 lakh, ₹2 lakh twice and the balance amount. ₹10,000 EMD will be refunded if the applicant is not selected as the beneficiary and the amount will be adjusted to the beneficiary’s share if selected.
Soon good news for Middle Income Group people
The state cabinet approved the construction of houses in CURE assembly constituencies in May. On Monday, the Housing Board announced the location of houses in the council’s 16 constituencies. The housing minister said the scheme is being launched in 16 constituencies based on land availability and will soon be extended to other constituencies. He also said that the government would soon announce “good news” for the Middle Income Group (MIG) people as well.
