Telangana launches ‘Bill One’, a single window platform for municipal tax payments

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary and Municipal Commissioner and Director TK Sreedevi on Friday launched ‘Bill One’, a new service that allows citizens to pay multiple municipal charges – including property tax, water charges and business charges – in a single transaction through a unified platform.

A key feature of the initiative is the generation of a consolidated notice of demand covering all utilities associated with a Property Tax Identification Number (PTIN). Even multi-property owners will receive a single notice, reducing the need for council authorities to issue multiple notices or repeat visits. The service also offers more flexibility to taxpayers by allowing payments in installments or instalments, making it easier to pay fees on time.

Bill One is available through hand-held devices (HHDs) used by municipal council officers and bill collectors. Citizens can also access the service through the official city portal, which allows them to make payments anytime, anywhere. The initiative is expected to simplify tax payment, improve citizen convenience and increase efficiency in municipal revenue collection across urban local bodies in Telangana, a press release said.
