The High Court in Telelangana ordered the Association of Kriket Hyderabad (HCA) not to remove the name of the former Indian Captain Mohammad Azharuddin from the northern stand of the International Cricket Stadium of Rajiv Gandhi in UpPal.
The court’s order comes to the recent directive issued by HCA Ombudsman Justice Eswaraiah, who ordered the removal of Azharuddin from the booth last week.
Justice (Retd) in Eswaraiah, serving as an ethical HCA officerHe made a decision at the beginning of the month after the petition was presented by the cricket club Lords, the HCA member unit. “I will certainly deal with the legal procedure and I will appeal to the High Court to stay in this order. It is a pity that it is required that the name of Captain India be removed,” said Azharuddin PTI.
“According to the statutes of the Association, the possession of the Ombudsman is for one year. In this case, the Functional Directorate ended on February 18, 2025 and all orders for this period are invalid.
“He did not have an extension that can only be given during AGM, which did not happen. So how he handed over the order,” Azharuddin asked.
Azharuddin played 99 tests and 334 ODI between 1985 and 2000 and recorded 15,593 runs with 29 hundreds and 79s.
