Telelangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Institutions (TGWREIS), since 2025-26 academic year, will train all its students from classes to X and medium students in coding as a regular subject.
The plan was launched last year on a pilot basis at its Moinabad Gurukula school and after its success the program will be extended to all 238 Gurukulian schools in the state in the state, on Tuesday informed Minister Tgwreis vs Alagu Varshini.
The training, including the development of the curriculum, the monitoring of the Action Plan and Pedagogy, will be provided by the Raspberry Pi Foundation based in the UK, which has a five -year partnership with an understanding society.
Integration of technology
The idea of introducing students into technical training, the emphasis of the state government in skills education, will learn about artificial intelligence, coding, machine learning, robotics and online instruments.
“The aim is not only to teach coding, but also to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the digital world. Under the new curriculum, approximately 1,52,000 students across the Gurukula schools are taught as a regular subject,” explained Mrs. Aragu Varshini.
Training will include two -hour sessions in class and practical projects. The curriculum was developed according to international standards in the field of computing education.
The evaluation of students will be carried out regularly and on the basis of the performance will be issued a certificate of confirmation of their earned skills. In addition, the aim is to prepare 250 students who are ready to work on the real world projects and apply their skills. This will also ensure that students develop critical solutions and innovation skills to face the global workforce culture in their future.
Club coding
Focusing on a large -scale learning network has also planned that each of these schools will have a coding club and each zone will mark one school of boys and one girl school as “coding spoken” – as a resource center for all schools in this zone. The centers will be trained under the State under the supervision of coding instructors and 42 such instructors for seven zones in the state.
Furthermore, each of the 238 schools will have five reserved coding mentors to train about 15 students per session. The aim is to train 1,190 students as coding mentors who will go on the train over 89,000 students throughout the state.
According to Mrs. Alag Varshini, the initiative is historical for the Gurukul education system and is a milestone for technical education in the state. Modern computer laboratories and the required infrastructure to carry out training were available.
In addition to integrating AI and ML courses, the Raspberry Pi Foundation said that objects such as mathematics and science, will be taught through animated lessons, games and stories to increase the involvement and understanding of students.
