Telangana Fire Services issues 7,601 firecracker licenses ahead of Diwali

The Telangana Fire Department has issued 7,601 firecracker-related licenses across the state ahead of Diwali as it steps up security measures to minimize the risk of fires during the festive season.

Director General Vikram Singh Mann reviewed the measures taken in Telangana and directed departmental officials to remain vigilant and ensure implementation of prescribed fire measures.

As part of its Diwali safety awareness initiative, the department has conducted campaigns in schools across the state to educate students about the safe use of firecrackers and the precautions to be followed while bursting them. A large number of children were sensitized on the safety of firecrackers and the prevention of fire accidents and injuries.

Mr Mann urged the public to buy firecrackers only from authorized dealers and to burst them in the open while maintaining a safe distance. He also advised people to ensure that children are supervised by adults and that they have water or other suitable extinguishing media available.

He appealed to the public to avoid dangerous practices and cooperate with the fire department in preventing accidents and protecting life and property.
