Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday (October 3, 2026) directed all concerned state government departments to prepare a comprehensive online safety framework for children in consultation with the Supreme Court and the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA).

“My government is determined to extend full support to SLSA to do good work in every district and village,” the Chief Minister said in his inaugural address at the South Zone Regional Conference on ‘Improving Children’s Access to Justice in Cyberspace’ in Hyderabad. The Chief Minister said that parents must be involved in enhancing children’s cyber security.

Children’s Helpline 1098, Cybercrime Helpline 1930

“Parents need to be part of the dialogue. Every child and parent should know 1930 (Cybercrime Helpline) and 1098 (Child Helpline),” Mr Reddy said. He suggested that parents talk to their children and find out what they are doing online.

“Be curious, don’t judge. Remember, they are our children. They need our support, guidance, love and understanding. Let us all work to protect the children,” the chief minister told the parents.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal said that a round-the-clock legal support system should be ensured so that children do not fall prey to cyber criminals after their rehabilitation.

Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s observation that the language of justice should be such that those seeking it should be able to understand, the minister said children should be convinced not to feel guilty for being victims of cybercrime. However, their confidence should be boosted to report cyberbullying or become victims of cyber criminals.
