Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Tuesday (December 16, 2025) and sought their cooperation in setting up the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Young India Integrated Residential Schools (YIIRS).
During his meeting with Ms. Nirmalarama, he sought the Centre’s cooperation in setting up Young India Integrated Residential Schools (YIIRS) in Telangana. He informed her that the state government was proposing to set up 105 YIIRS which would directly and indirectly impart quality education to nearly four lakh students.
He said an estimated ₹30,000 crore would be required to build these residential schools and other educational institutions. He asked the Union Finance Minister to exempt the loans raised for the project from the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) limits.

Later, the Chief Minister met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and urged him to approve an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) for Hyderabad. He informed the minister that 200 acres of land required for the proposed IIM has already been identified and that the transit campus is ready for immediate commencement of classes. Assuring the full support of the State Government, Mr. Revanth Reddy said that all the necessary infrastructure would be provided once the required approvals were granted.
The Chief Minister also sought sanction for nine Kendriya Vidyalayas and 16 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in Telangana in view of the increase in the number of districts. He assured the Union Education Minister that the state government is ready to provide land and other necessary facilities for setting up these institutions.
