Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday (April 6, 2026) launched development works worth over ₹900 crore in the erstwhile united district of Adilabad – comprising the present districts of Adilabad, Nirmal Asifabad and Mancherial – including the ambitious ₹205 crore development work of the temple town of Basara.
Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Mr Reddy visited Pipri village in Bazarhathnoor mandal of Boath constituency in Adilabad district this afternoon to commemorate three years of the historic ‘People’s March’ (padayatra) undertaken by the latter as leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP23) in 2023.
Major works for which foundation stones have been laid include two Young India residential schools in Boath and Nirmal constituencies at a cost of ₹200 crore each. Under the vision of the ‘Praja Palana’ (People’s Government — Path of Progress) programme, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stones of several development works and inaugurated projects that fulfilled the promises made during the padayatra.
It may be mentioned here that during the padayatra many people approached Mr. Vikramarka expressing their concerns about lack of housing and financial security. Today, these promises are being fulfilled by providing houses and financial support through the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam programme.
The two leaders will inaugurate a plaque to mark the occasion. Major works started today include Mahatma Jyotiba Phule BC Gurukul Boys School building constructed at a cost of ₹20 crores in Jainadh Mandal, Minority Gurukul Girls School building worth ₹20 crores in Adilabad city limits. The Long Swan Bridge from Sirikonda to Indravelli via Dasnapur and Pittabongaram built at a cost of ₹13.46 crore was also inaugurated.
Irrigation and infrastructure works for which foundation stones were laid include Pipri, Tejapur and Buggaaram Lift Irrigation schemes in Boath constituency at a cost of about ₹ 141.07 crore, Lift Muttur scheme and Chikmas Vagu Left Canal project in Indravelli and Sirikonda (₂97 mandals) and ₂97 Landes mandals check dam in Adilabad Rural Mandal (₹6.435 crore).
The government also approved Advanced Technology Center at Pochera village at a cost of ₹42.15 crore, construction of ITDA Utnoor office complex building at Lakkaram village at a cost of ₹15 crore. It also issued orders to start works on urban infrastructure in Adilabad municipality at a cost of ₹30 crore.
Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Adilabad MP G. Nagesh, MLA – Anil Jadhav, Premsagar Rao, Payal Shanker, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and Chief Minister’s Adviser Vem Narender Reddy, Cabinet Adviser P. Sudarshan Reddy and former Union Minister Chary Venugopala attended the programme.
