Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has assured the surrendered leaders and cadres of the banned CPI (Maoist) party that they will be provided with adequate security and rehabilitation benefits and the government will provide necessary support to enable them to live with dignity.
The chief minister on Friday (February 27) met the recently surrendered top Maoist CPI leaders at their request. The Chief Minister met the former Maoists face-to-face and congratulated them for joining the mainstream after spending several years in the forests. He stated that violence cannot provide a lasting solution and that public aspirations can only be addressed through democratic means.
The ex-cadres thanked the Chief Minister and the government for facilitating their return to normal life. They also sought to expand relief and rehabilitation packages in line with policies implemented in neighboring states. The Chief Minister assured that he would check their applications.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy, Additional Director General of Police Intelligence Vijay Kumar and Inspector General of Police Intelligence SIB B. Sumathi, Advisor to Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy and Advisor to the Government K. Keshava Rao.

Former senior CPI Maoist functionaries including former central committee member and political bureau member Tipiri Thirupathi alias Devji, former central committee members Malla Raji Reddy alias Sangram, Pulluri Prasad Rao alias Shankaranna, Pothula Padmavathi alias Pothula Sujath, former State Committee member and State Secretary of Radar Damo Badea Telang from Radar Telang State Committee Member Nune Narsimha Reddy alias Ganganna called on the Chief Minister.
The Director General of Police briefed the Chief Minister about the developments over the last two years in the area of reintegration efforts in the state. He said that 591 Maoists have reintegrated during this period and are now leading normal lives. According to officials, the coordinated efforts of the police department and the revised rehabilitation policies introduced by the government have contributed to changes in the outlook of senior leaders, leading them to reintegrate into mainstream society.
