The budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly concluded on Monday after 10 sessions held between March 16 and March 30, 2026, totaling 82 hours and 6 minutes of deliberations.
590 inquiries received
According to official statistics released by the Secretary of the Legislative Assembly, a total of 590 queries were received from members. Of these, 505 were accepted as starred questions and 53 were accepted as unstarred questions, while one was accepted as a short notice question. During the session, 25 questions marked with an asterisk were answered orally on the floor of the Chamber.
In addition, on March 30, 2026, 68 responses to starred questions and 42 responses to unstarred questions were placed on the table of the House. Deputies raised 91 supplementary questions during the discussions, which reflected an active involvement in seeking explanations from the government. During the various debates, MPs made up to 125 speeches, with ministers making 11 statements in the House.
Three resolutions
On the legislative front, the Assembly received 11 bills during the session and passed 10 of them. One bill was referred to a select committee for further consideration. The Chamber also adopted three government resolutions. The budget session was marked by debates on key financial allocations, policy priorities and governance issues affecting the state.
