Telangana aims to become a leading electronics manufacturing destination in the country with a focus on technology, innovation and manufacturing and strengthening the industrial ecosystem, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Saturday.
Inaugurating the manufacturing facility of domestic consumer electronics brand Mivi at E-City, Tukkuguda near Hyderabad, the minister said that based on the priority given by the government, the manufacturing sector will grow by 7.7% in 2025-26. The manufacturing sub-sector contributed ₹ 1.37 crore to the Gross State Value Added (GSVA).
The government has been working to strengthen electronics manufacturing clusters and hardware parks as part of the Telangana Rising–2047 vision. The goal is also to expand representation in chip design, semiconductor manufacturing and electronic component manufacturing, the minister’s office said in a report.
The aim was to attract companies across the electronics value chain, from research and product design to component manufacturing and finished products. Efforts are also underway to integrate local industries with global supply chains, Mr. Sridhar Babu said.
Backed by an investment of ₹200 crore from Avishakaran Industries, the company behind the brand, the new facility will manufacture Mivi products. It has a capacity of 5 lakh headphones and 75,000 soundbars per month. Around 2,500 people are employed, the company said.
From an audio brand initially to consumer electronics, including smartphones in recent times, the brand has spread its wings. The aim is to develop a wider portfolio of technology products and compete with international brands, the company said.
Co-founders Midhula Devabhaktuni and Viswanadh Kandula said the inauguration is an important milestone as the company completes ten years. The plan is to continue investing in innovation and building products for the Indian consumer.
