The two-day tech extravaganza, Technozion 2025 kicked off at NIT Warangal on Friday.
Prof. G. Madhavi Latha, a distinguished alumnus and professor at IISc Bangalore, who played a key role in designing the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab, shared her expertise and experience with the students.
She said the bridge design was constantly evolving during construction, dynamically adapting to the geological and geotechnical facts revealed during excavation. While the overall type and location of the bridge remained unchanged, all other parameters – including pier dimensions, foundation types and structural details – were left flexible to effectively respond to site conditions.
The event attracted an estimated 7,000 students with 1,614 registrations in various competitions. The festival features 23 events organized by major student clubs and 31 events organized by individual resort companies with a total prize pool of ₹2,000.
The first day featured intense competitions, workshops and expert lectures that showcased a mix of practical engineering and analytical problem-solving skills. While 23 events were organized by important student clubs, 31 events were organized by departmental associations.
