
Mancherial software professional, who lost nearly 88 ₹ Lakh in a cryptocurrency fraud after being lured by a false profile on the marriage website, managed to recover a piece of his money in what the police describe as a rare recovery.
Crypto assets worth $ 2,703 (digital currency designed to have the same as one US dollar) worth approximately 2.38 GBP Lakh, was monitored to the Chinese natione’s wallet. After the investigators had secured the court order, he was returned to the official telengana account Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB). The amount will be credited to the victim’s wallet as soon as the court grants the final permit.
TGSCB director Shikha Gel said that the man filed a complaint on June 12 and said the woman was called “Nandith Reddy” to Matrimona Bharat. Initially, she built her confidence through interviews about family and career before convinced him to invest in a cryptocurrency through a fraudulent platform. Within a few months, she and her collaborators received 87.58 ₹ Lakh, including stiff fees marked as taxes, currency conversion fees and even a “fee for fraud investigation”.
Investigations Cyber Sleuths TGCSB revealed that part of the money was diverted into a wallet of one Chinese national member Jiang Chuanxuan to replace OKX. “Quickly acting, stiffened our wallet and forced the reimbursement of funds. The rare occurrence in cross -border cryptocurrency fraud,” the officer added.
Police warned the public to be careful not to meet through marital websites and to avoid the transmission of cryptocurrency without verifying the identity of the recipient.
