A joint delegation from the Legal Advisory Committee of Prajna and All India Democratic Women (Aidwa) visited the Nursing Hostel Indira Gandhi on Friday to carry out the conditions on Friday and hear a complaint of women.
The visit is watching the news of the hostel guard, which has been transferred since then after a student on behalf of Devamma accused her of inappropriate behavior.
Despite the transfer of the guard, members of the delegation found several unresolved and serious problems during their visit. They noted the complete absence of CCTV supervision in the premises, poor quality and inappropriate foods and lack of basic menstrual hygienic devices such as hygiene inserts and incinerators.
The team was shocked when he learned that up to 14 students were forced to sleep on the floor due to lack of bed and mattresses. It was also found that the condition of the toilets and bathing is also non -standard, without an effective mechanism to maintain regular cleanliness.
The delegation, which raised further concerns, said the police who visited the hostel after the incident did not accept sensitive or based on the Council, but instead used a terrible tone.
“The police reportedly recommended students to report all problems. So what is the obligation of the backward class that the facility operates? Can we expect the police to solve structural and administrative issues such as hygiene, food or living conditions? Meenakshi Bali, State President of Aidwa and President Aidwa and Prajna.
Other members of the delegation included state vice president Aidwa K. Neel, activists Shant Ghanti and Sujat and others. The team urged the authorities to take immediate steps to deal with several challenges facing nursing students at the hostel.
