Some teachers in the State expressed their displeasure with an evaluation based on the lesson (LBA) carried out by the Ministry of Education and Literacy (DSEL), claiming that the Ministry creates “unnecessary pressure”.
According to LBA, teachers must update the plan of lessons, activities, unit test of each lesson and grades obtained by each student in the SATS (SATS) system. Then additional teaching must be given to a student who lags in learning and must be re -tests. However, given the server and other problems, the details of each lesson and every student in SATS have become a challenge for teachers.
DSEL implemented LBA in all governments, supported and unlimited schools in the state since the academic year 2025-26 to improve students’ learning and confirm the learning of the child after each lesson and reduce the stress of students. LBA is mandatory for classes 4 to 10 in Kannada Medium and class 1 to 10 in bilingual classes.
The Main Objective Is To Reducing Reliance on Tests to Identify Children’s Progress and Increasing Learning Capacity, Allysis, Motivates at Different Learning Learning and Inclusive Assessment Teachers, Continuously Monitor Student Learning, Bring Student Learning to the Attent of Parents at Each Level, and the Lesson-Based Assessment Framework with Continuous and CompertiSive Assessment
More than 42,000 documents
In LBA, units tests will be carried out for 25 marks in each lesson and the marks should be entered in the SAT and the stamps will be generated automatically.
The department has already provided details of the test units, evaluation and SATS documents to be updated according to LBA from 15 to 30 August teachers. In accordance with this, 55 exams for students in class 8, 56 for class 9 and 58 for class 10 should be carried out for 60 school days. School teachers with about 250 students must evaluate a total of 42,250 responses and enter the same number of documents in the SAT.
“We have previously entered plans for lessons, activities and brands into a separate register. And we are under pressure.
Not yet implemented at private schools
Private educational institutions have not yet taken steps to implement it.
“The department, which initially said that LBA would not be implemented in private schools, now ordered to be applied to our schools. LBA implementation becomes difficult in private schools. They did not learn.
KV Trilok Chandra, Commissioner for Public Teaching, said: “This problem has already been discussed with the Office of the Association of Government School Teachers and has taken steps to resolve technical questions. It was decided to reduce 25 stamps assigned to each 15th lesson test to 15.”
