The leaders of the Teachers Association urged the government to consider the subcommittee of the cabinet to decide on the modalities for paying waiting fees worth 33,000 GBP Crore to government employees and teachers.
In his statement, the State President of the Association of K. Harikrishn and Secretary General M. Srinivasa Rao stated that if an immediate payment is not possible, 30 % of the house should be assigned. The housing councils should be established in every seat of income, in the district headquarters and in the Amaravati area for house development.
They said that in the last eight years fees for DA arrears, PRC arrears and the surrender among other components have accumulated almost 33,000 crore for government employees and teachers in the state. The government’s inability to pay arrears led to serious financial problems for employees and teachers. They stated that the proposed cabinet subcommittee should have the task of completing payments within three months.
They stated that four DA installments were waiting for more than 50 months, while the Reward (PRC) Review Commission, which was due since July 2023, was postponed until September 2025. They said that disproportionate delay in the payment of arrears affected the standard of living of employees.
