
The police staff of the All Women (AWPS) police station was arrested by a 59 -year -old Tamil teacher and government official Adi Dravidar Welfare High School in Tiruvannamei.
The arrested persons were identified as V. Sathyaselan, a native of Chengam, and K. Balamurugana, a native of the Cuddalore district. The initial investigation revealed that the school came under the scanner of the District Child Protection Office (DCPO) in Tiruvannamei after gaining a complaint about sexual harassment.
DCPO officials said the team of DCPO officials, led by K. Selvi, visited the school campus 24 July to create awareness between students and teachers about using the children’s line, rights and protection of children and the provisions of the Act on Children from Sexual Creation (POCSO).
DCPO officials said that during a program held on two separate sessions for boys and girls, disabled students complained about sexual harassment by a teacher and an official. They also gave written complaints about the sexual harassment of the DCPO team.
DCPO officials said that such a meeting of awareness is regularly held in educational institutions such as schools, universities and diploma institutes. On average, in the district in the district, 12-13 cases of children abuse are registered each month.
The DCPO team sent Tiruvannamei collector K. Tharpagaraj for complaints of sexual harassment provided to students to the guest team. Based on the complaint of DCPO, all the female police station (AWPS) in the polruary arrested a duo, which was later deposited in a medium prison in Vellore. The probe is running.
