TDP state president Palla Srinivasa Rao said the behavior of some leaders was bringing the party into disrepute and warned that strict action would be taken against those who do not change their ways.
He also expressed displeasure that grievance redressal programs in the constituencies were not running as they would have liked.
Speaking to important leaders from across the state through teleconference on Wednesday, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that TDP is known for its discipline and will not take anyone’s misconduct lightly as otherwise the party’s image would be tarnished and the party would lose credibility.
Leaders who have been warned of their misbehavior should come to terms or face prosecution, he reiterated, stressing the need to continue the good work that won a crucial mandate for the TDP-Jana Sena Party-BJP alliance.
Mr. Srinivasa Rao said the appointment of village level committees to the constituencies must be completed by November 15. The leaders tasked with forming the committees should appear before the Party National Chairman and the Chief Minister and give an explanation in case they fail to complete the work assigned to them.
Further, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said negligence in organizing grievance redressal programs in the constituencies was glaring. “If these programs are being implemented as per the mandate given to the leaders, why will the Praja Darbar held by IT Minister Nara Lokesh on November 4 have such a large attendance,” he asked and advised the party leaders to bring government programs to the people and stay in touch with the people regularly.
They should also effectively counter the false propaganda unleashed by the YSR Congress Party, Mr. Srinivasa Rao added.
