Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu on Thursday said the TDP’s entry into the political arena in 1982 was a sensation and won the hearts of the people by being a principled party and fulfilling their expectations.
The TDP would ensure that the central government’s programs and funds reached the people of Andhra Pradesh as per the commitment given to them.
Advancing a political resolution in Mahanadu, Mr. Rammohan Naidu said the party was born to promote the self-respect of the Telugu people and strictly adhered to the path set by its founder and former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao.
He recalled that the TDP was formed to oust the Congress party and created history by coming to power within nine months of its formation. He said that the TDP was committed to the welfare of the backward classes and weaker sections and hence was trying to improve their standard of living.
“TDP has the responsibility of providing stable governance and under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu, it has succeeded in its endeavours,” said Mr. Rammohan Naidu.
He further said that TDP National Working President and IT Minister Nara Lokesh has written history by bringing in ₹23 crore investment in two years.
Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar said it would be difficult for Andhra Pradesh to achieve the desired progress without central support. Mr. Chandrababu Naidu kept it in check and approached the center for help and it came in no small measure.
Amaravati development
Talking about the resolution on central support to Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandra Sekhar said that the Center has allocated ₹ 15,000 crore from the Union Budget for Amaravati.
More importantly, the Center has given legal sanctity to Amaravati by passing the AP Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in Parliament amid persistent attempts by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to throw a spanner in the capital’s development works, the Union minister said.
Besides, the BJP-led NDA government at the Center provided the required funds for speedy implementation of the Polavaram project, which was to be completed before the start of the Godavari Pushkarams in 2027. Mr. Chandra Sekhar said that the Center had also helped in the revival of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) by providing it with a special package worth ₹1.0,0.0 cr.
The government has revived 82 centrally sponsored schemes by paying ₹12,000 crore and railway projects worth ₹20,000 crore have been sanctioned for AP and are in various stages of implementation, he said, adding that Bhogapuram Airport, South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone, rail line to Google data center in collaboration center and Amartangible have taken shape.
