Telugu Desam (TDP) submitted detailed representation on Tuesday and proposed a number of reforms aimed at strengthening electoral role and increasing transparency in the democratic process.
The party, which has made a significant reference to the upcoming special inspection (SIR), emphasized the need for procedural clarity, guarantees against incorrect deletion and respect for the previous voter integration.
TDP leaders also proposed that the SIR process should be made with sufficient delivery time, ideally not within six months of any major elections to ensure confidence and administrative readiness.
The party stressed that the exercise should not be associated with the verification of citizenship, sought to start the Sir in Andhra Pradesh.
At the meeting convened by the main election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar with all parties, the leader of the TDP Lok Sabha Lavu Sri Krishn’s Devarayal, emphasized the exemplary electoral participation of Andr Pradesh of 81.86% in 2024 general elections, which far exceeds the national average of 65.79%.
He urged ECI to ensure that this democratic momentum continues through early, inclusive and technologically controlled voters revisions.
The meeting was attended by TDP leaders, including President Andr Pradesh, Pall Srinivasa Rao and MPs.
Key TDP proposals
TDP suggested that Sir should be done with sufficient delivery time, ideally not within six months of large elections to ensure administrative readiness
Annual third -party audits under CAG supervision to identify anomalies in election roles
Use AI controlled tools for de-duplication, migration and deceased items in real time
A time -bound mechanism of complaints about BLOS or EROS
Standardize door numbers nationwide to strengthen the verification of electoral role
Other key party proposals include the annual third-party audits under the supervision of a control and general auditor (CAG) to identify anomalies in election roles, using artificial intelligence (AI)-devices for de-duplication, migration and standardized inputs in real-time numbers to strengthen the election war.
TDP also suggested that verifying an epic number based on Aadhaar would help eliminate duplicity and replace the process of verifying the ink by the biometric verification process.
Parties
TDP suggested that the ECI should include agents at the level of the booth (blah) from all recognized parties during the revision process and perform a preliminary publication sharing role proposals with blactions to allow real -time verification.
District data on supplies and detects of voters should be published with an explanation of the ECI portal and the public control panel in real time to monitor voters’ complaints and their resolution should be determined, TDP leaders said.
Legal Reforms and Responsibility
TDP also called for stricter responsibility of election officials. IT SUGGESTED TO ENFORCE STATTUTORS TIMELINES AND PENALTIES FOR INACTION or MISCONDUCT BY EROS or District Election Officers (DeOS), Empower the State Election Watch Committee to Function with Observer Status During Roll Revision, Mandators Rotation of Block Level Officers Officers (EROS) to prevent Local Influence or Partisan Misuse and Appoint and State-Level Ombudsman Under ECI to Handle Unresolved Political Grievances related to election blinds.
He also proposed to carry out targeted re-cast campaigns for migrant workers, tribal groups, older people and homeless citizens and to allow temporary address statements to be basic documentation to avoid the exclusion of mobile residents.
