Senior YSRCP leader and former Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy on Sunday lashed out at the NDA alliance leadership, especially Telugu Desam Party leaders, for what he called their continued attempts to spread falsehoods on the ghee adulteration issue.
Addressing a media conference, he asked why TDP leaders insisted on what he described as innocuous even after a CBI-led special investigation team set up on the orders of the Supreme Court had categorically stated that there was no animal fat in the ghee supplied to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for the preparation of Laladddu Prasadamed.
“Why is the Chief Minister trying to create confusion among the public through false statements? Is he intending to suggest that the SIT set up on Supreme Court directions has erred in its investigation?” he asked.
Instead of clearing the air and instilling confidence among the millions of Hindu devotees who have immense faith in Lord Venkateswara, the ruling party made a concerted effort to perpetuate what it called a flawed narrative, said Mr. Bhaskar Reddy.
He further wondered how the TDP and some media houses sympathetic to the ruling party continued to deal with the issue even after it was effectively resolved by submitting the final charge sheet to the court. He appealed to the devotees not to be misled by what he called the erroneous statements of the ruling party leaders and urged them to remain steadfast in their devotion to the Lord of the Seven Mountains.
