The Travancore Devaswom (TDB) Council, which controls most of the Travancore Temples in Kerala, warned on Monday that it would take strict steps against the Temple Advisory Committees to “trigger religious hostility in society”.
President of TDB PS Psashant froze his attitude to the functioning of the Temple Advisory Committees in the middle of the reports of the alleged rendition of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) “Gana Geetham” (prayer song) during a music concert in the Colllam district on Sunday. Members of a professional music ensemble reportedly performed a song during the “Ganamela” (music concert), which took place in the temple managed by TDB, located within the Kadakkal police station.
According to the police, it was also accused that RSS flags were built in the temple in connection with the festival in connection with the festival.
“It will certainly act against the Temple Advisory Committee. Several orbits in this respect have already been sent to the leadership of the Temple of the Council,” Mr. Prashant told the TV channel.
However, some advisory panels ignore such circulars and work on the basis of political interests and pave the way for “municipal disagreement” in society. “Such actions will not be tolerated at any price,” President TDB said.
Mr. Prashant said that part of the advisory panel in the Kottkal temple proceeded to the police with a complaint against “Gana Geetham” during the concert. The Council also requested an incident report, he added.
Police Kadakkal said she had received a complaint from the Church Advisory Committee, although the case has not yet been registered.
The incident is approaching on the heels of further discussions within the same limits of the police station, where during the recent Temple Festival festival they were reportedly sung by “revolutionary songs” that praised CPI (M).
