As the probe into the alleged religious conversion and sexual harassment case linked to the Nashik office of Tata Consultancy Services continues, advocate Monika Arora, who is part of the four-member probe committee, said on Sunday that the “matter is sensitive” and “revealing in nature”. The committee continued its investigation on the second day on April 19.
On April 18, a commission of inquiry began an inquiry into an alleged case of religious conversion linked to the TCS office in Nashik. A retired judge, a retired IPS officer, an advocate and a coordinator from the National Commission for Women (NCW) are part of the inquiry panel that constitutes the NCW.
“We have come to investigate the TCS episode. And we will talk to all the parties concerned. We can’t say anything at the moment because we will meet and talk to all the parties concerned and whatever truth comes out, we will make a recommendation and a report based on that. The committee has a retired judge, a retired IPS officer and advocate Monika and four people from Arora.ANI. The inquiry by this panel comes after Bajrang Dal members protested against the members in front of the District Collectorate demanding action on the allegations.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis chaired a review meeting of the Home Ministry on Saturday to comment on the matter. He said that cases of religious conversion will not be tolerated under any circumstances. During the meeting, several key instructions were issued to the police department, apart from assessing the status of the investigation into the conversion case.
The director general of police, additional chief secretary of the home ministry, head of the SIT and a senior police official attended this crucial meeting.
Fadnavis said, “Cases involving religious conversion will not be tolerated under any circumstances. While the Nashik police have been lauded for cracking this case on their own, they have now been directed to continue the investigation with equal vigour. Instructions have been issued to conduct a thorough investigation of all potential angles and patterns,” ANI quoted Devendra Fadnavis as saying.
