With heavy rain that casts the Tunga, Bhadra and Varada, and increase the release of water from preliminary dams, the Tungabhadra dams announced extensive water release by Monday morning.
According to the warnings issued by the Tungabhadra Council on Sunday evening, the tank level is 1,625.57 ft, 78.37 TMCft of water with its full capacity of 105.78 TMCFT at 1,633 ft.
The dam receives 43,253 CUSECS water, which is expected to produce over the current to more than 1.1 Lakh Cusecs, 75,000 cusecs from the Tung dam, 40,000 CUSECS from the Bhadra dam, 10,000 cusecs from the Varada River.
“Given the growing tributary, the water will be released into the Tungabhadra River from 6:00 on Mondays. The drain can be between 80,000 cuses and 1.15 Lakh Cusecs, depending on the tide.
Deputy Commissioner Koppal Suresh B. Itnal, publishing counseling, urged people in the villages of Riverside to progress maximum caution.
“More than 1.1 Lakh water can be released from the Tungabhadra dam.
Officials stated that police and income teams were asked to stay in high readiness and the local administrations issue notifications in villages along Tungabhadra to avoid accidents.
