California supplier Taylor Farms, which supplied shredded iceberg lettuce to Yum Brands’ Taco Bell restaurants, has been identified as a potential source of contamination in an outbreak of cyclosporiasis that has affected thousands of people in the US.
Citing two people familiar with the investigation, the Washington Post reported Thursday that this year’s cyclosporiasis outbreak has been largely centered in southeastern Michigan, where more than 4,300 cases have been reported so far and at least 100 people have been hospitalized.
