Tatipamula bursts into celebration as Uttam returns home emotionally

It was more than an official visit. For Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Wednesday’s trip to Tatipamula in Tirmulagiri mandal of Suryapet district was a return to her roots — and for the village, an emotional homecoming of her son.

Villagers lined the roads and gathered in large numbers as Mr. Uttam arrived at his ancestral village and made announcements regarding new schools, infrastructure and housing, even as he recalled his childhood memories.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Uttam remembered his father Nallamalu Purushotham Reddy, who died about a decade ago, and spoke emotionally about his late father’s wish to visit Tatipamula once more before his death.

Although that wish could not be fulfilled, Mr Uttam said the memory stayed with him and strengthened his resolve to do something lasting for the village linked to his family for generations.

Recalling his childhood in Tatipamula, the Minister said meeting old friends and familiar faces brought him immense happiness and satisfaction.

Education dominated the homecoming

Mr. Uttam said his family had earlier donated land and a building for the village primary school. A new ₹2 crore primary school building will now come up in the village, funded through Telangana GENCO.

He directed the District Collector to ensure that the construction is completed by the next academic year, without compromising on the quality of construction.

A ₹5,000 Zilla Parishad High School building is also being constructed with CSR support. Mr. Uttam said the aim was to provide children in Tatipamula with educational infrastructure comparable to the facilities available in Hyderabad.

The development push goes beyond schools. Major infrastructure works highlighted during the visit include a check dam bridge worth ₹16 crore, while 80 Indiramma houses were also sanctioned for the village.

Local representatives used the opportunity to locate more Indiramma houses, hostel facilities and a fire station for the wider Thungathurthi area.

Tatipamula does not fall under Uttam’s Huzurnagar constituency — it is part of Thungathurthi — but the constituency’s boundaries emerged as secondary on Wednesday.

For the village, there was a lasting image of a son returning home with memories of the past – and projects destined for the next generation.
