The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) will increase the maximum retail price (MRP) of all liquor variants in the state by ₹ 10 with effect from November 1 by adding an environmental cess to the existing price.

Tipplers can get this ₹10 back by returning empty liquor bottles. The revision applies to Indian foreign liquor, beer, wine, liquor from other states and imported liquor. The prices of spirits supplied in FL2 and FL3 licensed establishments will be revised.

Tasmac has instructed manufacturers and distributors to ensure that revised price tags are pasted at manufacturing facilities, wholesale warehouses and retail outlets. Existing stock without QR code buyback stickers must be identified and tagged by October 31st. The company has instructed the store staff not to collect any additional amounts into the system beyond the revised MRP.

Tasmac directed all area managers to conduct training for all store managers and store staff on the revised MRP system and invoice generation. Any deviation will be viewed seriously and the relevant officers and staff will be held accountable.
