TANLA Foundation to build 5000 houses for poor in Sathupalli and Aswaraopeta assembly constituencies

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy welcomed TANLA Foundation founder Uday Kumar Reddy’s initiative to construct 5,000 houses free of charge for poor people in Sathupalli and Aswaraopeta assembly constituencies at an estimated cost of ₹300 crore.

The minister visited the rural health center and pathology laboratory run by TANLA Foundation at Bethupalli Gangaram village in Sathupalli mandal on Saturday, according to a press release.

He said that Mr. Uday Kumar Reddy had come forward to construct 5000 houses from his personal funds through TANLA Foundation on the condition that the state government allotted housing sites to eligible poor people in two constituencies in the erstwhile Khammam district.

“It is heartening to see charities joining the government in its efforts to realize the dream of poor people owning homes,” he added.

Bhoomi Puja for house construction will be done on Dasara, the minister said and directed the collectors of Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts to identify the eligible beneficiaries and complete the process of allotment of land for houses.

Sathupalli MLA Matta Ragamayee, Aswaraopeta MLA Jare Adinarayana, Mr. Uday Kumar Reddy and others were present.
