45 -year -old engineer Tangedco Junior (is) and four other staff, including the leader and inspector Powerline (RI), were suspended on Friday for not following the standard operational procedures (SOP) in the construction of electric poles.
Tangedco officials said that on the basis of an investigation report, K. Jagadeesan, Junior Engineer (is), S. Bhakthi Nathan and R. Mahalingam, who are inspectors Powerline, leader B. Sivakumar and K. Senthil Kumar of Onnupuram Tangedco page.
The initial investigation revealed that the late gangman K. Prabhakaran (40) was installed four electric poles on a new land in the village of Vilankoupam 23 September. He was accompanied by a suspended staff for work. When the team built poles on the open land, one of the poles slipped and touched the power line with high voltage (HT) on the route.
Prabhakaran randomly picked up the rod to prevent falling and electricity. Based on the Police alerts, Misnangalam inspected this place. A case was registered. The inhabitants and family members of the deceased gangman protested against Tangedco officials for not taking appropriate security measures. Based on the investigation of S. Jayakanthan, a superintendent engineer (SE), Tangedco (Tiruvannamalai), Tangedco officials were suspended. The probe is running.
