The 36 -year -old leader Tangedco was suspended on Wednesday due to the alleged threat to a weaver in the village of Kilt near Arani, Tiruvannamei over complaints about electricity.
Officials stated that on the basis of a report on the investigation of S. Kumaran, divisional engineer (DE), Tangedco (Polur), he issued an order for the suspension of K. Murugan, the leader in Vadamathimangalam.
The initial investigation revealed that the village has witnessed frequent unplanned cuts over the past few weeks. Subsequently, N. Ganesan, 62, registered a complaint via a free line of assistance provided by TANGEDCO.
The complaint was handed over to the executive engineer Tangedco (EE) in this area. In accordance with H. Loganathan, an engineer assistant (AE), he asked his employees Murugan and Raja to participate in a mistake in the complainant’s house.
The duo went to Weaver’s house and corrected a mistake. During the return of Murugan, he reportedly threatened weavers that he should not register complaints in free numbers or online mode, because such calls provide them with unnecessary pressures to participate in complaints. Instead, the weaver should only register his complaint personally.
Mr. Ganesan made a video of an incident that became viral on social media platforms. After the incident, Mr. Murugan was suspended. The probe is running.
