
Tamil Nadu’s own tax revenues increased by 14.5% in the first quarter of 2025–2026 to 43,070.45 GBP from 37 605.43 Crore in the same period last year, according to provisional data by the administrator and CEO (CAG).
State tax revenues (SOTR) represent 75.3% of total income from Tamil Nadu income.
Among the SOTR components, the collection of state tax and services (SGST) increased by almost 21% to 15,761.04 Crore in the first quarter of 2025–2026 out of 13,019.26 Crore in the same period last year. Revenue from other taxes and obligations increased by about 23.9% to 3,529.86 GBP last year last year.
In the first quarter of 2025-2026, income from stamps and registration fees increased by 19.3% to 5,868.88 crore from 4,918.51 Crore in the same period last year.
State consumer obligations (reflecting alcohol revenues) to 2 904.47 GBP Crore in April-June 2025-2026 out of 2,791.53 Crore in the same period last year.
The collection of income from the components of sales and trade, etc. (including VAT on gasoline and diesel and liqueur) increased in the first quarter of 2025–2026 by 7.8% to 14,954.37 crore from 2025–2026.
In the first quarter of 2025-2026, soil revenues in the same period last year dropped sharply to 51.83 crore in the first quarter of 2025-2026.
In estimates of the budget for the period 2025-2026, the government assumed the government sotr to increase to 2.204.58 crore, which is 14.6% of the revised estimates of 1,92,752,43 Crore in 2024-2025.
The state share in the trade union tax was £ 13,296.29 in the first quarter of 2025-2026, which is 16.6% of 11,400.88 Crore in the same period last year. Revenue without tax dropped to 2,895.70 crore in April-June 2025-2026 out of 3,946,26 crore in the same period last year. Total income from Tamil Nadu income, including SOTR, share in trade union taxes, income without tax and assistance allowance, in the first quarter of 2025–2026 increased by 14.9% to 63,755.70 crore from 55 467.63 crore. The numbers of the current year were 19.23% of budget estimates.
The income deficit indicating that expenditure exceeds income was 15,298.98 crore in the first quarter, while the fiscal deficit, the difference between total income and total expenditure, was 19 377.19 GBP.
