“Tamil Nadu is being defeated by Delhi,” Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said on Friday (April 17, 2026) about the defeat of the Constitution Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha.
Mr Stalin was quick to react to the defeat of the Bill to introduce reservation for women in legislatures in 2029 and increase the number of Lok Sabha seats in the Lower House, posting a portrait on social media of him setting fire to a copy of the delimitation bill.
Further, Mr. Stalin said, “On April 23, we will defeat the arrogance of Delhi along with the slaves who support this arrogance.” Tamil Nadu goes to polls on April 23, 2026.
