Tamil Nadu CM announces dedicated city for motorsport in Chennai; An international track is planned

The Tamil Nadu government has announced plans to build a dedicated Motor Sports City in Chennai to promote motor sports and sports tourism. The project includes an international standard race track designed to host events from Formula 1 to Formula 4, along with modern infrastructure and driver training facilities. Racer and actor Ajith Kumar lauded the initiative, noting that state recognition, corporate support and simplified customs regulations are essential for hosting international racing series in India.
