The Election Commission of India (EC) on Friday (April 10, 2026) ordered the immediate transfer of Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Arun and replaced him with Additional Director General of Police Abhin Dinesh Modak.
Mr. Modak took up his new task in the evening. The EC directed that Mr. Arun should not be employed in any election-related posts till the Assembly elections are completed.
