According to Accuweather, Ahmedabad is expected to reach 39 degrees at 6 pm, with temperatures gradually cooling down to 20s after midnight. Wind gusts of up to 20 km/h could affect conditions during the powerplay.
The extreme heat in Ahmedabad on Saturday means that dew is likely to be an important factor as the evening progresses and that could make this draw final. Chasing sides usually thrive when the dew makes it difficult for bowlers to grip the ball in the second innings.
Interestingly, Suryakumar Yadav had suggested in Mumbai that India would prefer to bat first, but the dew on Sunday completely changed the equation. Whoever wins the toss may well decide to bowl and leave the opposition to deal with the difficult conditions up front.
