According to these reports, a cleaning lady raised the alarm, which led the hotel staff to intervene, and the matter was later reported to the Pakistani media manager.Mirza strongly denied the claims and publicly criticized the report, saying it was irresponsible to broadcast unverified information. Responding to the issue on Instagram, he wrote: “Absurd news is circulating in the media and I strongly condemn this kind of cheap journalism. No media house can broadcast any unverified news (sic).”In the same post, Mirza named the journalist and the news channel and confirmed that he would take legal action. “#PakistanCricketBoard has already denied these baseless and fake reports and I will take legal action against #ShahidHashmi (journalist) who works for ARY News. This kind of dirty reporting must be banned and #GovernmentofPakistan must take action against such people!” he added. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also denied the allegations and supported the players. The board demanded a public apology from the reporter and warned that action would be taken if the issue was not addressed.“Agenda-driven fake news targeting the character of our players is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The reporter must make an immediate public apology; failing that, the PCB will take all necessary steps to deal with such malicious content forcefully and nip it in the bud.”
